I ‘d hit it if there is a home tour to to go to every week end. I can not get enough of these. Last weekend was associated house tour and The Kirkwood Spring Fling within Atlanta, and I’ve to confess, I used to be envious of the Kirkwoodites. It looked just like a youthful, trendy (although not overly-trendy-for-college, annoyingly hip), helpful, varied area full of once-ignored Victorians, bungalows, and fifties ranches which were lovingly brought back to existence by their industrious owners. There was also some new building thrown in, and so far it seems like it’s stayed respectful of the circumstance and Kirkwood’s identification on the National Historic Registry (let us hope it remains that way).
Whenever I am on a tour I want to observe how other folks have embellished and steal tips and inspiration from from their store. Here are a couple of handfuls. I am sorry for the poor pictures – that day I just had my camera phone on me.

Digging through wrecking yards is consistently rewarding. This magnificently restored Victorian was in ruins that were such that all doorways, windows, and the classic mouldings really came from else where.
