It happens every year about this time when the temperatures start to dip: sniffles, sore throat, cough, stuffy nose and aching muscles. It’s cold and flu season, and if you capture anything is going around when it comes to, make certain to stay home and get some rest. Do not hesitate to simply “power through” a cold. Staying home is the quickest way to get better while also preventing the spread of germs to others.

It’s happened at my house. I recently had my youngest son stay home with a cold. So, I removed my schedule and hung out with him for the day. “Mother, I enjoy staying home when I’m ill,” he explained, halfway through the day. “I know. The majority of people do,” I answered.

In this holiday season with busy schedules and crowds, you might find yourself beneath the weather. Stay home and let yourself heal. Here is a list of sick-day actions to get you through the worst of it. Stay healthy!

2. Have a spa. Taking a bath in that new claw-foot tub (or some other tub) can help with aching muscles. I also find a bath useful if I’ve got the chills from a cold. Use a great aromatherapy candle for ultimate relaxation while you’re soaking.

3. Read a book. Many people today find staying home ill incredibly boring. Well, here is your chance to grab on that novel you have been wanting to read. Locate a cozy chair, put on some slippers and read until you get sleepy.

5. Snuggle up and watch a movie. Grab a blanket and a good picture. Since you’ve got daily, utilize that TV room you just finished decorating. Make it a double feature.

6. Make tea. Tea is particularly soothing for sore throats. Mint tea with lemon and honey actually helps congestion. Mint tea can be a balm for an upset stomach.

7. Listen to music and have a nap. Good conservative sleep is among the best items to get a cold. Switch on some calming music and climb within that customized bedding you just bought. Beds are for sleeping, not simply holding throw cushions. (But you can sleep on throw pillows too.)

8. Do nothing. Really, when was the last time you did nothing? Pick a wonderful corner of your property. How about that cozy chair or chaise you spent so much time picking on? Just sit and do so. Allow your body heal.
